Are you ready yet? I'm not

So, it's July, and you're all excited. You fools! Only one of you noticed the label to the last post, which concerns me a great deal. A great deal. I do hope no-one has cancelled any plans over this.

Anyway I don't have time to talk about July today because I have been too busy undercoating a bedside table. And being hot. Hot! Hot! You wouldn't think this would happen in the North of England but we have been melting. The sweaty Littlest Latte spent the day looking as if someone had thrown a bucket of water over her.

Mr Coffee and I have also been occupied emptying and filling drawers since our time trawling round junk shops ended with the purchase of bedroom furniture. Finally! For many years we have been staring resentfully at an ugly IKEA cabinet and some even uglier drawers, the origin of which is best never mentioned.

Now the only thing to decide is what colour to paint my bedside cabinet. Do I choose the green on this left hand wall or the green on that left hand wall?

I know! Such entirely different looks!

Anyway, back soon!

  1. My father always refers to my Ikea chest of drawers as 'Early Matrimonial'

It is ridiculously hot, and I, for one, have had enough.

  2. I never thought i'd say it but I do wish it would cool down a little! The thought of painting in this weather is too much! But if you must, I think Grecian Garland, not the parrot.

  3. I think the grecian garland too, but only because I like the name better. hope the paint is going on ok, and not blistering and peeling off, which is what happened to us when we painted the garage in a heat wave.......

  4. Hmmm - I like the parrot - looks more like a celadon to me and I love me some celadon. As you would know if you were to see my walls!

  5. Note to self: start actually reading Coffee Lady's labels. Avoid further abuse.

  6. My vote is for the Green Parrot. Because it's more green w/yellow. I'm not a big fan of greens w/blue in it like your Grecian garland.

Either way you go, post pictures! Please?

  7. Hugely impressed by your painting effort. For my part, I have been too hot to do anything much all week, especially ironing. Now I have everything in the house washed and dried, and the biggest pile of unironed clothes I have ever seen. I am seriously contemplating sticking them under the mattresses to flatten out - like a trouser press. That, or taking the iron outside this evening on an extension lead. Now there's a thought ...

I love comments. I always try to respond - either here in the commentbox or by email if Blogger gives me your email address.
