Busy doing nothing.

I was going to join in with Kitchen Poetry.

And then I thought, who am I kidding. I have a picture of some damp on a wall where the upstairs pipes broke, and a plumber had to come. No-one wants to see this.

And my strategically placed bowl of lemons and limes is looking decidedly depleted. (Did I say 'depleted'? I meant non-existent.)

I don't actually seem to have a lot to say at the moment, with or without the lemons.

See you, you know, in a bit. When the mood strikes.

  1. I know how you are feeling, my kitchen is half torn apart and it's all I can do to just cope at the moment with the kids and keeping chaos at bay. We'll be here when you have something to say.

  2. I will be listening when you want to be heard. I think a break does everyone good

  3. Ha. I've got some crumbs and an empty jar of peanut butter. Maybe at extremely close range like some kind of moonscape.

  4. What a great song. Thanks for sharing the video. (Was it just me or was anyone else drawn to watching the xylophone player?)

  8. Ah, life gets like this sometimes... I am doing a lot of moving washing up out of shot in my kitchen at the moment.

    catch up when you return.

  9. Ah, but you could become part of the movement pushing for more reality in blogging. Or something like that.

    Have a rejuvenating break!

  10. Aha! I see you mention lemons. It must be fate. I had said on my blog that I was nominating you for a blog award for people who make lemonade when life gives them lemons. Yours is one of my very favourite blogs. Then I re-read your recent posts and thought to myself that I was perhaps missing the point of your whole cynical, world-weary persona! But hey, have it anyway, should you wish it. Maybe with just a little splash of vodka.

  11. Knock. Knock. Knock.

    Where the hell are you?

It's very inconvenient to keep showing up, only to find the same ennui-inspiring post here to greet me. Yawn.

For godssake, woman, give me something to READ.

  14. Hey, damp is good. My house has got too dry this year. It's made of clunch - some mad ancient clay-ey chalky stuff that is in communion with the water table. Not enough rain and cracks open the size of the grand canyon. I can see my neighbours through them. Can I have some of your damp?

WV: hatted. Well no, but I do like this one:
