Help me make it through the night

We all have our own coping strategies for dealing with change.

A four year old may, for example, creep out of bed the night before her first day at school and cuddle herself up on the sofa.

Her mother may find comfort from other sources.

Either way, it all seems to work out okay in the morning.

  1. She looks much too tiny for school. Keep her home.

  2. I like all three options for coping with change in the Coffee House.

Have a Bushmills for me, won't you?

  3. Littlest looks very cuddly. Thinking of you with these big changes - all will be well I am sure.

  4. Cuddly was my thought, too. And completely tiny and adorable. You're making me weepy. Why is it that everyone must post these poignant things when I am sick? I can't cope.

And if you did the embroidery under her head, then you are a FRAUD, madam. Never again will I believe that you are domestically challenged. I already know about your superior knitting...

  8. I am wuite new to your blog but already love it! My twin girls turned 4 end of July so are youngsters as the academic year stands. I have given home ed alot of thought but also found a precious tiny village school which I fell in love with. What I asked & was delighted they were so accomodating with was for them to do part time.Theres only 11 children in reception so I appreicate they may have more power to be flexible than a bigger school, but my 2 went Monday am last week, then Mon & Tues am this week,I will do a couple of weeks of 2 days & see then to add in another morning.
This morning they are both banjaxed, they both slept in & are on the ok side of whiney lol! Theres no way I would consider them in a right mood for another morning today. So thats whats workiing for us,I thougth I would share in case you werent awre you do have the right to defer or part time her x
Hope she has a great morning today & hope the whisky soothed you x My heart was in my mouth but my 2 scampered through the door with out a backwards glance at me lol!!
    GTM x x x x

  9. All three look good to me.

My solution is rum & raisin ice cream. With extra rum.

  10. Ah, first day at school, I remember Max's...it was so peaceful! Hope she enjoyed it - the energetic ones always seem to be ready mentally when the time comes.

  11. I love the too-big jumper and the way that she has made herself so cosy. One can learn so much from ones children.

Did she scamper through the door?

    I must know.

  12. If alcohol and chocolate don't help you cope, nothing will.
