Patchwork
A weekend escape is a rare thing for me, and I got so excited I took barely any photographs. But they're all here, in my head.
A shopping trip. Fresh strawberries for breakfast. Zhu Zhu hamsters. Amazing friendships - some just a day old, some stretching over two decades. Waking up somewhere wonderful after a full night's sleep. Champagne at 11am. Flowers, laughter, lunch, gifts, and books, and the ultimate pinnacle of comfortable friendship - the sharing of bad TV.
You can't sum up a weekend like that - it's like a patchwork. I shall remember it for a long, long time.

It sounds wonderful, and very needed. With pretty curtains as a bonus.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am too distracted by the gloriousness that is those curtains to focus on a proper comment.
ReplyDeletePatchwork. I like that.
ReplyDelete...hang on a minute...I recognize those curtains!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTen points! You'd have recognised the quilt I slept under, as well...

ReplyDeleteblog weekend away sounds like synergism to me, the whole is greater than the sum of all the elements. sorry science geek came out then, don't know what came over me, must go for a lie down.
ReplyDeleteBlissful indeed!
ReplyDelete(lovely curtains, by the way...)
Be careful with the zhu zhus. They grow and demand better accommodation.
ReplyDeleteI've housed quite a few things in my time. Hamsters hold no fear for me.
DeleteI am just sighing with contentment.
