Patchwork

A weekend escape is a rare thing for me, and I got so excited I took barely any photographs. But they're all here, in my head.

A shopping trip. Fresh strawberries for breakfast. Zhu Zhu hamsters. Amazing friendships - some just a day old, some stretching over two decades. Waking up somewhere wonderful after a full night's sleep. Champagne at 11am. Flowers, laughter, lunch, gifts, and books, and the ultimate pinnacle of comfortable friendship - the sharing of bad TV.

You can't sum up a weekend like that - it's like a patchwork. I shall remember it for a long, long time.

  1. It sounds wonderful, and very needed. With pretty curtains as a bonus.

  2. Sorry, I am too distracted by the gloriousness that is those curtains to focus on a proper comment.

  6. Be careful with the zhu zhus. They grow and demand better accommodation.

    1. I've housed quite a few things in my time. Hamsters hold no fear for me.
