When I told my little girl (5) that her school was closed for the day so we could all vote to choose who we wanted to be in charge of the country she said "vote for me". Would love to know what her policies would be.......everyone must wear pink and eat sweets every day most likely!
Violet (2) and I went to vote at 8am. When I went to the desk to collect my voting papers, Violet stood in front of me and said to the man & woman "Violet voting". It was a proud moment.
We had our usual chat about the importance of voting on the way to school this morning. Now just the imterminable wait for results (though in my constituency it's a foregone conclusion, sigh) and the joy (?) of Jeremy Vine and his wretched swingometer.

ReplyDeleteI nearly did the salute as I left the polling station - in your honour!
ReplyDeleteExcercising ones democratic right always feels good (though I'm not sure I can wait up for the result).
Greentwinsmummy I don't blame you - I watched an old Citizen Smith clip this morning and really. That backside.
